bruma, the ritual of senses

The bathroom is a spatial concept that has completely changed its physiognomy and meaning, shedding its purely functional character to connect with the emotional, leaving behind its “service space” label. It has been reconceptualized, becoming a place of worship for serenity and personal care, with an incredible potential to connect us with our interior, helping us daily to let go of the mundane in search of the essential.Water has become the purifying element, capable of transforming its use into an immersive and strongly evocative experience, capable of reconnecting us with nature, transporting us to “places” through sensory states. From the symbiosis of both elements united through technology, the concept for the JOMOO Space by Andemen for CASADECOR 2025 by SUMMUMSTUDIO was born; “Bruma, the ritual of the senses”, as the contextualization of a sensory state, through technology and interior design, creating a unique and disruptive architectural proposal capable of redefining and revaluing the spatial concept of the bathroom. client: JOMOO by Andemencategory: Exhibitionphotography: Nacho Uribe Salazar and Summumstudionominated project: ROOM Design Awards 2025

VS Offices

VS Office is the spatial response to a new model of contemporary living. Located in an urban penthouse, the project transforms an old apartment into a hybrid environment that blurs the boundaries between home and work. Conceived by Summumstudio for Kepri Management, the space is not defined by fixed functions but by a versatile architecture that naturally accommodates different uses throughout the day. With a surface area of 168 m², the intervention begins with an open, fluid layout that allows the space to be reorganised without compromising its atmosphere. Work areas, relaxation zones, meeting spaces and moments of disconnection coexist in balance within a coherent spatial narrative, where materials play a key role in providing continuity, character and functionality to every environment. Along this journey, the Liem material by XTONE —in Grey and Dark finishes— becomes one of the pillars of the project’s material language. Its application goes beyond the conventional, being integrated holistically into multiple elements: indoor and outdoor flooring and wall cladding, kitchen countertops, sinks and basins, executive desk, fireplace, wine cabinet, staircases, niches, and even a custom-designed pendant lamp. This breadth of applications demonstrates the versatility of the material, capable of adapting to different uses—both architectural and […]

RG House

Casa RG is an interior architecture project developed within a detached single-family home located in a residential area of Ciudad Campo, Madrid. This commission represented a complex challenge, as we started with an existing building featuring an unchangeable, pre-defined layout. Our task was to undertake a meticulous, almost surgical approach to implement minimal improvements that would achieve the most efficient and aesthetically impactful results. The project required a careful selection of materials to provide the pre-existing structure with formal, architectural, and material coherence. Our goal was to transform the spaces by bringing in light, harmony, balance, and sobriety. Once the "container" — the resulting architectural shell — was consolidated, we began creating strategic volumes that added functionality and continuity to the interior spaces, thus achieving a fluid architectural narrative. The greatest challenge lay in working within the constraints of an already-built structure. In projects like this, where the walls are already in place, the level of difficulty increases significantly. Our proposal had to fit precisely into the existing structure, making it appear as though every decision was part of the original design. This approach led us to design architectural elements that introduced movement, fluidity, and dynamism to the space without […]

Unexpected Hammam

WOW Design presents UNEXPECTED HAMMAM, a sensory space designed by SUMMUMSTUDIO, where Architecture and Design converge under a cultural approach capable of turning your visit into an immersive experience. Calm, water, and depth divided by halos of light create an atmosphere of reflection, where you can escape and connect with the senses in an essential space installed in the heart of CASA DECOR 2022. We developed a space where small-format ceramics take a leading role and adapt to the different uses within the hammam, covering all surfaces, showing their different finishes and also separating spaces, through a novel lattice, ICON, which WOW, is proud of. to present in this edition of CASA DECOR.By applying the lattice on the perimeter walls, we seek to convey the sensation of being in a much larger space, and the dripping that slides in its intricate shapes reminds us that water and steam condensation are present in this space. Next to the lattice we have a sheet of water (barely 80 liters), which collects part of this dripping and which accompanies the visitor with its soft undulations. The bench, essential in a Turkish bath, adapts to the ceramic shapes and appears as a guide on […]
